My 40 Days

A while back my pastor used Noah as a reference; he said that we all know the story of how God told Noah to build the ark and to collect 2 of every animal and how he was obedient and did so. But none of us really know the background information on how scared Noah must have been while enduring the 40 days & 40 nights of nothing but rain. God never told Noah how long the storm would be so he just had to keep his faith that everything would be okay but I'm sure Noah was just like some of us and thought that God may have forgotten about him. We really don't know what Noah's 40 days were like and we don't know anyone else's either. I try to always remember this when I look at someone else's situation from the outside. Usually when we look at someone else's situation, we always have lots of commentary on how they should handle their situation. Many of us are guilty of "Girl, I wouldn't put up with that mess" or "Boy, she's stupid" I always try to remember that not everyone feels like I do and those 40 days make a big difference for everyone. Some of us have had an easy 40 days and then others of us have had a hellish 40 days. The lessons we learn coming out of the 40 days & nights help make us the person that we are. Sometimes folks learn the lessons and take something positive from it others blame God for their bad times and never learn the lesson that He intended. Try to remember that you never really know someone's Big Picture, you can never experience their 40 days.

A true Fact:We don't know how Somebody else's 40 days are.Even when portions may be shared or we think we know a fact or two, We still have no Ideal, not Clue about their Storm.God never tells us how long storms will last either, or just how many will come, however what he does is Prepare you for the Storm, even though we might not even reconize he's done so, and then he tell us this: Just Trust Me''Jesus'' and although We might not feel it at times he also gives us the Strength & Shelter in him to Endure each storm.Doesn't mean you won't cry sometimes, hurt sometime, wonder at times.I put myself in Noah's shoes and maybe fear isn't the word but after awhile I know being in the place he was I would have cried out Lord where are you??? and thought for a moment did you forget about Us out here? Then I would have to think back and remember he told me to just Trust him and ask him to help me to go through this Storm Lord!!Each one of us has our own personal 40 days some times it's 80,What gets me is people look at your 40 like it's nothing, but when their 40 days come it's major.Call out the tropps, I need some help. Well It's like that for Everyone who is going through a storm.I know any storm is major whelther it starts out calm or rushes in, so thats the part we should remember then we won't be so quick to tell sombody how they should handle their storm, and like your last sentence which I'm trying to apply to my own storms,Take something positive from it,and Get the Lesson God has purposed us for,and not so much on what a bad storm it was.

Boy oh boy, do I agree with you last statemet about how some people can look at your 40 days and just discount them but they want you to respect and feel sorry for them. Everyone situation is different and what I may not beable to deal with situations that you may be able to deal with. People need to remeber that instead of always thinking "oh, my situation is worse than anyone else's"

God never tells us how long the storm will be but just like with Noah God will give balance 40 days & 40 nights. For every dark situation there will be a breaking of day. We must remember that He knows the plans He has us in every circumstance, situation or vicissitude. In our 40 days & 40 nights seasons He wants us to expand our paradigm. We all need to get to a place in God and stop being so pre-judgemental and judgemental when someone is in their 40 days & 40 nights. There situation just might be the ingredience that we need to keep our own sanity in our 40day & 40 nights seasons. We need to learn to applaud those who have made it through their light afflictions which are put for a moment. Instead of trippin. We need to stop trippin because God wants to bless us in and through the 40 days & 40 nights.
